AIDA64 Update: Improved Support for AMD Zen 5 CPU & PCIe 6.0 Hardware

AIDA64 has recently released its latest update, version 6.92, featuring significant improvements and additions to its hardware support, including enhanced compatibility with AMD’s next-generation AMD Zen 5 CPU.

One of the notable highlights of this update is the enhanced support for AMD Zen 5 processors. While preliminary support was added by HWiNFO about a year ago, AIDA64 now offers improved compatibility, aligning it more closely with the upcoming Zen 5 CPU architecture. Although Zen 5 CPUs have made appearances in Linux patches and early samples have surfaced, it will still be some time before these processors are officially launched and put into action.

In addition to the AMD Zen 5 CPU support, AIDA64 has introduced brand new AVX-512 benchmarks tailored for Intel Xeon processors from the Sapphire Rapids and Emerald Rapids families. These benchmarks are designed to take full advantage of AVX-512 capabilities on both Intel and AMD hardware. It’s worth noting that AMD currently stands as the only mainstream CPU platform to provide AVX-512 support, as Intel has removed this feature from its recent client offerings. However, Intel may reintroduce it with the new AVX10 ISA (Instruction Set Architecture) in the future.

Another significant addition is support for PCIe 6.0 controllers and devices. This is a crucial development as PCIe 6.0 technology is expected to target next-generation Data Center platforms, likely becoming prevalent around 2024-2025.

Here is a summary of the key changes and features in AIDA64 version 6.92:

  1. AVX-512 accelerated benchmarks for Intel Sapphire Rapids and Emerald Rapids processors.
  2. Further optimization of AVX-512 Julia and Mandel benchmarks.
  3. Improved support for AMD Zen 5 processors.
  4. Support for MSI CoreLiquid AIO LCD.
  5. Support for PCI Express 6.0 controllers and devices.
  6. Detailed GPU information for AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT, RX 7800 XT, and RX 7900 GRE.
  7. Introduction of FMAC methods for FLOPS and IOPS GPGPU benchmarks.
  8. Detailed GPU information for Intel Xe and Xe Max GPUs.
  9. Support for multiple Intel GPUs.
  10. Detailed GPU information for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB.
  11. CSV and XML report formats are now supported by AIDA64 Engineer.

These updates not only enhance AIDA64’s compatibility with cutting-edge hardware but also prepare it for future advancements in CPU and GPU technologies. As the tech landscape continues to evolve, AIDA64 remains a valuable tool for hardware enthusiasts and professionals seeking to monitor and diagnose system performance.
