Wi-Fi 7 Announcement Unveils Lightning-Fast Connectivity

The Wi-Fi Alliance has officially unveiled the eagerly anticipated Wi-Fi 7 Ready certification, ushering in a new era of connectivity for modern devices. The upgraded standard, a successor to Wi-Fi 6E, has been in development since 2021, promising significant improvements for supported devices.

Wi-Fi 7 Breakdown:

The Wi-Fi 7 standard (IEEE 802.11be) boasts an impressive 46Gbps throughput, a substantial leap from Wi-Fi 6E’s 9.6Gbps. Set to feature in upcoming laptops, desktops, tablets, TVs, smartphones, and routers, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is poised to be the first mainstream smartphone embracing this cutting-edge technology.

Key Specifications:

  • 320 MHz Channels: Available where the 6 GHz band is accessible, facilitating multigigabit speeds.
  • Ultra-Wide Channels: Doubles today’s widest channel size, ensuring high throughput.
  • Multi-Link Operation (MLO): Enables simultaneous data transmission and reception for increased throughput, reduced latency, and improved reliability.
  • 4K QAM: Achieves 20% higher transmission rates compared to 1024 QAM.
  • 512 Compressed Block-Ack: Enhances efficiency and reduces overhead.
  • Multiple RUs to a Single STA: Improves spectrum resource scheduling for enhanced efficiency.
  • Triggered Uplink Access: Optimizes Wi-Fi 6-defined triggered uplink access for latency-sensitive streams.
  • Emergency Preparedness Communication Services (EPCS): Ensures a seamless National Security & Emergency Preparedness (NSEP) service experience in Wi-Fi access networks.
